Creating Digital Portfolios Worthy
of the Time and Effort

Module Seven - Example Three
Spatial & Visual Literacy

As with previous examples, it would be possible to combine a number of different literacies into a single activity that might result in a half dozen products or digital artifacts.

We might ask students to put together an advertising campaign to sell a product or to sell an idea. To sell their product of idea, they would need to be skilled at understanding the power of images to convey ideas and they would need to be skilled at selecting images capable of making their point.

While the Net offers many images, there are copyright issues and quality issues to be considered.

Give this brief activity a try and note the digital artifact that results from your work.
